In Sanyi, a town filled with foggy mountains, the Cresent
Phoenix opened up a new branch next to the old mountain paths. With a ten-meter wall and simple architectural design, the building blends right in with it’s natural surroundings; although it looks large from the outside, the inside is cozy and colorful. Inside, the tasteful tables and chairs match beautifully with red hibiscus flowers from Miaoli—these red flowers really tie
the restaurant together.

The decor ideas came from the owner, who wanted a place that reminded her of her nostalgic childhood in Miaoli and the blanket of hibiscus she saw while walking home from school everyday; these flowers were the first living things to welcome her home. As children she and her friends would compete to see how many of the red blooms they could fit on their palms. Now, thirty years later, the hibiscus still has a large place in her heart.
The owner of Cresent Phoenix has incorporated the best of her four Art Boulevard Restaurants in Taichung into the new Sanyi branch.

Chinese food is the main focus of Cresent Phoenix in Sanyi with some Western influences in cooking techniques and flavorings. Lunch and dinner are more Chinese style but afternoon tea offers a range of pastas, paellas and cakes in addition to Chinese snacks and coffee, tea and juice.

The motto,”Encounter, Conflict, Chaos, Fusion” reflects the owners’s state of mind when she opened the Sanyi restaurant. With two Western restaurants and two Chinese restaurants in Taichung, the new Cresent Phoenix is a combination of the four, blurring the difference between East and West, instead focusing on great taste, excellent service and a lively and comforting astmosphere.

Cresent Phoenix Group is mixture of Taiwanese, Hakka, traditional Chinese, a French chef, a Canadian husband who likes to cook, combined to create a different yet familiar style of Chinese food.
